The Robotime LC701 DIY Wall Clock Kit builds into a fully functional, freestanding mechanical wall clock — 231 precision laser-cut wooden pieces that assemble into a striking display piece you can actually read the time from.

This is a Robotime original design that blends craftsmanship with function. The result is a wall clock with visible mechanical character, designed to be displayed rather than hidden.

Before you start

  • Recommended for ages 14+; the pieces are small.
  • Clear a table you can leave set up for a few evenings.

FAQ

Is it beginner friendly? Yes, if you can follow an illustrated manual. It's a satisfying step up from the smallest kits: more pieces, more detail, but no special skills or tools needed.

Do I need glue, batteries or tools? Glue and batteries aren't included because they can't be shipped by air. You'll want craft glue (or wood glue) and no batteries for this model. A small craft knife and tweezers help with the finer pieces.

How long does it take? Plan on a few evenings — roughly 6–12 hours depending on how fussy you are with the details. Many builders split it across a weekend.

Does the clock actually work? Yes — the kit includes a quartz movement, so once it's built and fitted with a battery it keeps time like a normal clock.

How big is it when finished? It's designed to sit on a standard bookshelf between your books — roughly the footprint of a hardback, so measure your gap first.

Does it come with lights? No built-in lighting in this kit. If you want it lit, a short battery LED strip fits neatly behind the finished build.
