The Robotime Rokr Black Forest Cuckoo Clock Kit is a working cuckoo clock you build from 435 laser-cut wooden pieces — no glue required. Press the staircase button and a cuckoo bird emerges on the hour, flapping its wings and chirping three times. Pull the vintage toggle switch and four warm LED points illuminate the treehouse structure, casting a soft glow across the Roman numeral clock face.
This is one of the most feature-rich DIY clock kits we carry. A functioning cuckoo mechanism, LED lighting, swinging moon pendulum, and mortise-and-tenon joinery that requires no adhesive — all in one build.

What's in the box
This is a working clock kit. The box holds pre-cut wooden parts, the quartz clock movement, hands and the instruction sheet — you build the case and fit the mechanism yourself.
Before you start
- Pick up craft glue and AA/AAA batteries locally — they can't be shipped internationally.
- Recommended for ages 14+ — parts are small and detailed.
- Sort the pieces by number before gluing anything.
FAQ
Does it come with lights? Yes — an LED light set is in the box, so the finished piece glows once you add batteries.
Does the clock actually work? Yes — the kit includes a quartz movement, so once it's built and fitted with a battery it keeps time like a normal clock.
Is it beginner friendly? Yes, if you can follow an illustrated manual. It's a satisfying step up from the smallest kits: more pieces, more detail, but no special skills or tools needed.
Do I need glue, batteries or tools? Glue and batteries aren't included because they can't be shipped by air. You'll want craft glue (or wood glue) and a couple of AA/AAA batteries for the LED light. A small craft knife and tweezers help with the finer pieces.
How long does it take? Plan on a few evenings — roughly 6–12 hours depending on how fussy you are with the details. Many builders split it across a weekend.
How big is it when finished? It's designed to sit on a standard bookshelf between your books — roughly the footprint of a hardback, so measure your gap first.
